Guidelines for Items left at the New Jersey Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial

 Items that are left at the memorial are catalogued and recorded on a regular basis.  These items vary from photographs to birthday cards to teddy bears to personal letters.  Our Armorer collects the items left at the memorial and turns them over to the Coordinator of Education Initiatives and Resources to become a permanent part of the collection.  Items are tagged with the date it was left, the location within the Memorial where it was found and a description of the item.  There are some items that are not kept by the Foundation.  Flowers, floral wreaths and other perishable items are not preserved; however, ribbons, cards and notes that are attached to them are cataloged.  The items in the collection are displayed periodically in our lobby.
